OUR COUNTY LINE

About

Our County Line Band

Our County Line represents a bold new chapter in modern music, blending the gritty, storytelling traditions of Rock, the Celtic Highlands of Scotland, and American Heartland Country. Anchored by a profoundly human heartbeat and a signature "Country Heritage" aesthetic, the project brings real stories, raw lyrics, and melodies to life through next-generation generative AI audio and visual tools. Directed by a seasoned composer, the music acts as a world-class studio band that explores the complex realities of life, love, and the friction of the world around us. Embodying an "us against the world" approach, Our County Line provides a deeply emotional soundtrack for anyone navigating the struggles and triumphs of what it means to be human.

The Voices of the Line

To give a face and a voice to the complex stories woven throughout the music, Our County Line is fronted by three distinct performing personas.

Caleb Thorne

Armed with his signature Telecaster, Caleb Thorne is the gritty, weathered male anchor of Our County Line. His music and storytelling are driven by the weight of past mistakes, hard-fought lessons, and the relentless grind of life. Echoing the stubborn resilience and blood-deep loyalty of his family heritage, Caleb channels a fierce, protective strength into the working-class struggles of the Ohio valley. For Caleb, music is a reckoning; he leans into his instrument's driving rock sensibilities and Highlands to Heartland Country edge to carve sense out of the struggle, delivering heavy-hitting anthems and dirt-road narratives.

Sadie Vale

Sadie Vale serves as the ethereal ground of Our County Line. Never far from her acoustic Gibson guitar, she anchors the haunting mysticism and lyricism of the Scottish Gaelic folk tradition right into the barbed wire edges of American rock. Driven by a profound need to find clarity and beauty in life's broken pieces, her voice brings a raw, unmistakable vulnerability to the catalog. Yet, she is far more than just a ballad singer. Sadie provides the project's deep sensitivity while standing firm in the chaos, proving to be a little bit of grace in a white-hot mess. Capturing both raw emotion and fierce survival, she is the true embodiment of Barbed Wire and a Sunday Dress.

Eliza Morris

Eliza Morris is a dynamic, fiercely independent powerhouse who brings the project's Celtic flare to life. As Sadie’s best friend, she is driven by a refusal to be caged by circumstance, finding her absolute freedom in the music. For Eliza, her fiddle is far more than an instrument, it is her lifeline and the most direct connection to her cultural roots. Channeling the wild, untamed energy of traditional Gaelic reels into the modern American heartland, she strikes the match for the project's most fiery, celebratory anthems. Through every high and low, the fiddle remains her most authentic voice and her true source of meaning and peace.

The Architect Behind the Audio

While Caleb, Sadie, and Eliza give a face and a voice to the stories, the foundation of Our County Line is built entirely in the real world. Every lyric, melody, and production choice is driven by a singular human heartbeat and a hands-on approach to modern music creation.

Shaun Shotwell

As the Executive Producer for Our County Line and Director of County Heritage Records, Shaun Shotwell is the creative architect behind the project's signature Highlands to Heartland Country sound. Drawing from his deep musical roots as a former band director and his native Ohio background, Shaun writes the raw, narrative-driven lyrics and composes the foundational melodies for the catalog. Operating as a meticulous audio engineer, he utilizes a modern, hybrid production workflow, blending traditional acoustic instrumentation with advanced digital audio platforms to edit, mix, and master every release.
